We've wasted our failures on convoluted truths we couldn't use, we grew our branches before the roots. With these fractured lies, I read between the lines and find, we didn't deserve this. I didn't deserve this.
I've never seen a sky this red, when it's snowed this hard. It matches the drapes in my living room; hanging in the middle of empty white walls. I hope it doesn't rain, I hope it doesn't rain. The white to my knees, I lift my feet to wipe the snow from the cuffs of my jeans.
My actions speak louder than the words of a coward, and I won't let where I come from define where I'm going. Let it be a testament to never settling for just enough when anything but seemed so far away, I won't forget screaming my lungs out loud.
This wilted rose; the thorn in my side, I've lost count of all the times that I try to keep a level head. Surrounded by ignorance, some things are better left unsaid.
Some things are just better left unsaid.
